Lactose Intolerance-I take lactase pills when (symptoms, consume, how much)

I consume dairy, but still sometimes have the symptoms of LI. I've come to the conclusion that mostly that comes down to the amount of dairy I consume, I.E. drinking more milk than other times. Is there some sort of table that shows how much lactase must be taken to offset a specific amount of lactose I'm taking in based on what I'm consuming?
