I know there are some Vegan Weightlifters and/or Aerobic Exercisers (NewageRedneck) and some others so i'm curious if you would give a sample of your diet and where most your protein sources come from.

I thought someone posted on here a while back about a Vegan Pro Bodybuilder but i don't recall the name.

Thanks.....

Although I have been eating a vegetarian diet for over 30 years, I've never been a vegan. At best, I eat one vegan / raw foods meal a day. Regarding protein, I have tofu at least once a day. At work, I usually snack on walnuts or almonds. My wife cooks alot of dishes with beans. Unfortunately I'm also a cheese lover. After my workout, I make a drink consisting of organic apple juice, Super-Green Pro-96 Protein Powder, a spoonful of Garden Of Life Perfect Food, and a spoonful of organic Maca.

blessings...Franco

Thanks for the answer Franco !! I think i asked this before of you but i was reading about diets of Grains and Legumes and i'm reading that they have Phytates which are Antioxidents that are good for us but that they also chelate important minerals like Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc out of the digestive track when consumed and that you could become deficient in these inportant minerals over time.

Anythoughts on this one way or the other.

Thanks again !!

I couldn't imagine the level of discipline required to train hard on a vegetarian diet, let alone a vegan diet. Discipline not only for temptation, but for preparation of meals!

When I come home, I ask myself, am I tossing a T-bone on the grill, or chicken on the Foreman

6/3 ~

try searching Stephen Arlin (aka Thor Balzer) - he wrote a book called "Raw Power!" about bodybuilding on a raw vegan diet. He also sells his own protein powder .. macadamia nuts and hemp i think? (could be really wrong on that). good luck
