OP you didn't mention your age but I also believe the sugar needs to go and then it will still be slow going for awhile. But, this is what happened when I first went on my wt loss plan and it was really slow going at first but I still got almost 40 lbs off since Xmas and that's with me in premenopause. The thing is, if you have insulin resistance, and most overweight people do, it makes it really hard to lose weight, but once your body gets more sensitive to it, the wt will come off more easily. IOW, you need to turn that train around. Then later, when you've lost the wt, you can have sweets in moderation, but only if you can handle them--I know I can't, so never again. Fortunately I no longer crave them. And I've asked this on here a bunch of times and will repeat myself as long as I have to: What is moderation? Most moderns have no idea. I figure that in 1900, soda once a week and pie on Sunday was considered moderation. Twice a week but most probably weren't insulin resistant back then.
