I agree totally with RosieSD to cut out oatmeal if you wanna lose weight becoz oatmeal is a high carb food and that besides sugar is what makes you gain weight or prevent you from losing. A bowl of quinoa with toasted pine nuts will be a much better choice becoz quinoa is high in protein instead of carb. Other lean proteins like yogurt with nuts, or a protein drink are some food you can use for in between meals to keep you from being too hungry.

A bowl of oatmeal is what? Maybe 200 calories? If you work it into a sensible amount of calories in a day, it is perfectly fine. What you want to do is figure out what foods will fill you up and what gives you the most bang for your buck. Maybe quinoa does that for you, maybe barley; those are just two options.
