Also, keep in mind, that you can do a very much so simulated weight lifting in the water, by moving limbs against its resistance. Works great, I've done it. Hard to do abdomen, unless safely holding to something, but otherwise, spread hands wide in water and you can exercise any major muscle group. Very good, continuous resistance. Say, you do "butterflies" in water - you have same resistance closing arms AND spreading them. No machine or weight will give you this.
