I've seen ads for doctors in Monterrey that do this. This is closest to Texas. If you are in the California area I would guess that Tijuana has it's share of doctors.
I do not know what your reasoning is to get this procedure done in Mexico, but if its for financial reasons you need to do a lot of homework. This type of surgery, or any kind of surgery is not something that should go into the, 'look for a bargain' list.
I did- and it has gone fantastic. I'm 8 months out and have lost almost 80 lbs. I went to Dr Altamirano and highly recommend him as a surgeon. I'm still in close contact with him and the aftercare has been fantastic.
I highly suggest to do your research- there's some scary stuff out there.
I picked Dr A after doing several years of research-- and don't regret it one bit.
I highly suggest joining his facebook group for support- many pre and post op patients are in there.
I went to Tijuana in Jan 2012 for Vertical Sleeve Surgery. No complaints but I gained all the weight back. So now I'm on Weight Watchers, but that wasn't the question .

I have a question to you about skin sagging. Loosing that much weight in such a short time appears likely to result large amounts of loose skin ( please correct me if I am wrong). What happens with all that skin? Did the doctor make any suggestions as to how to deal with that ex... will is shrink back in place over time or is surgery needed once you hit a stable and desired weight. Also I have noticed in those pictures patients where are very different starting sizes. Do you know if the rate of weight loss is faster when you are at a higher weight?

Hi. It was not the questions, but very important for you to share. If someone is going to invest all the time, money and effort in to doing this then they need to know there is a chance the weight can come back. Did you gain the weight back do to not being able to maintain to suggested intake? Feel free to direct message me if you are not comfortable posting this. I am really curious.

Hanging skin varies from person to person. Some is genetics, how/where you carried weight, age, etc.
Generally heavier people will lose faster but it's another everyone is different situation.
Re going to Mexico it's important to keep in mind most US Bariatric surgeons will not touch someone else's work. So should something go south or you have late complications be prepared to have a hard time getting treated States sides. I know several people who had WLS in Mexico and have had to travel back when complications arose as surgeons in their area were unwilling to accept them as patients.
