The benzocaine is still odd to me. I look for benzo in cough drops. They tend to make my mouth (and more importantly) throat slightly numb. Not sure I'd want to eat a bunch of caramels that made my mouth go numb.
I don't remember my mouth going numb. Maybe it wasn't a big enough dose?
It was big in 60's and 70's or earlier but perhaps when the aids epidemic hit the world and also when the phen phen came out it disappeared. I worked in a school for some time and remember a teacher taking it but don't recall what she said about it, didn't care much so didn't hear anything.
Aids was not around when Ayds were sold..My mom ate them in the 60's and early 70's. They tasted like candy......i rpthink that I got chubby eating them too. Lol!

Yep, my mom and I both had them back in the 60s...LOL we ate them like candy too! No big surprise, but they didn't do anything for appetite suppressant...just made you feel like you were doing something good for yourself instead of eating candy! LOL
I remember trying them in the 70's but didn't like the taste. I never used Fen-phen but I have friends my age who still dream of the stuff. They say they never looked or felt better!
