There is a Herbalife shake shop in every town in the nearby vicinity. Before we moved to Indiana last year I had heard of Herbalife, but never saw one of these shake stores. Basically you go in and can get the Aloe, tea and Shake in many different flavors for a meal replacement. They are very good but kind of pricey. Then they try to get you to buy the stuff to have at home and of course they try to sigh you up to also sell it.

Does anyone have experience with these stores or selling it? The shakes are good and filling, but is it just a scam?? Seems like an easy small business? Thoughts!

Gimmicky and retail markup of something you could easily make yourself at home for far less than what you would pay the 'shake store' to 'shake' you down

Just my humble opinion as I know enough about Herbalife to be alittle dangerous to myself and others

Skip the specialty drinks: shakes - juices etc ... you can drink a lot more calories than what you are led to believe by their hype and snake oil salesmen

Just eat healthy wholesome meals and if you need something on the go ... plan ahead and bring a 1/2 apple or banana or a small handful of nuts or cheese and lite crackers to snack on between meals

A lot less $$$ and you KNOW exactly what you are putting into your body.
And you skip the high pressure sales pitch to load up on all the other 'must have' Herbalife products before you exit the shake shop

Care to tell us a little more about it before we rush off to possibly waste our time?

Betting on Zero is a 2016 American documentary directed by Ted Braun. It investigates the allegation that Herbalife is a pyramid scheme, and follows Bill Ackman's short investment in Herbalife that is ostensibly a billion dollar bet that the company will soon collapse.

On the other hand it's a film championing a hedge fund manager who has taken a short position (eg, stands to profit if Herbalife does go to zero). So you have a shark collaborating (possible financing) a documentary who has billion dollar short position on Herbalife who is quite public about hoping the the documentary will get the FTC to do his work for him so he'll make a huge pile of money. I'm not saying it's not a pyramid scheme, just that there's ulterior motives. It's a MLM company... but there's lots of MLM companies. Avon, Mary Kay, Amway, Tupperware, Herbalife. MLM isn't a pyramid scheme in and of itself.

I don't think much of their products but that's completely different than it being a supposed pyramid scheme.

Actually, it is. And every MLM that has been investigated has faced huge fines or closure, or both. The problem is, few are investigated because of the $ millions in lobbying dollars spent in Washington annually. Herbalife was hit with a $203M fine, but that pales with the 7 yr injunction they must now operate under. After only 2 months since it went into effect, HLF's sales have plummeted 18%.
