I love the Kind bars, and at the risk of sounding like a shill..... Costco has their own version (not the protein) of nuts and dark chocolate, which is surprisingly low in sugar for what it is - I use them as a dessert / treat.

I love Kind Breakfast Bars. They keep me full in the morning which is always tricky because caffeine stimulates my hunger and I love my coffee. These bars cancel that hunger out.
movintime didn't say he/she was a bodybuilder but stated if "on the go". I am assuming that meant not "headed to the gym". Most people struggle with calories - I am making a suggestion based on how I evaluate foods because the OP asked for input twice. But you are right - Metrx is for body builders and workouts. No arguments there!
Correct re MetRx & BB. I used the Base & Plus MetRx way back in '92 -- when 1st the supplement/meal replacement powders came out. It was 2 canisters then. Now the meals are in packets & 'micellar casein' has been removed (Metamyosyn which was in orig formula in early 90s).
So.. yes, the MetRx bars are high in sugar, & they were never were around in '92 -- heck, NO bars were 'meal replacements' in the early 90s really (they were just added protein/cals for bulking).
Ok, just wanted to update some things here. I may go back to MetRx packets & yes -- even tho over 50 now, want to retain mass & size from yrs of training.
I may have to try these. Only 2 net carbs in a bag.
Leery of chips in any form. I buy Trader Joe's blue chips seldom. I eat too many & carbs are soo easy to over eat. Bars seem to quench better & thus slow down my need to eat. I drink as much decaf & water as I can w/ a bar, & it helps fill me up. Or else I'd go on an eating rampage & defeat the reason I use the bars. But some folks can eat chips, I can't tho.

2 carbs in a bag is like a pork rind carb level.
I hate the taste of pork rinds.
Bars don't really do it for me as "meal replacements". Breakfast is almost always liquid as it fills me up for 2-3 hours. I drink Muscle Milk 100 calorie. 20g of protein. It's basically chocolate flavored water but it's enough to pass 2-3 hours, then it's off to my next meal.
