I started IF (Intermittent Fasting) several months ago and I love it. I do a big, vegan breakfast in the morning around 6:00 a.m. and then no food until the following morning. (I started with two meals a day, breakfast and lunch, but switched to one meal recently.)

But in researching online I'm hearing about BCAAs and wanted to add that in. I don't eat red meat, dairy or eggs but there are a number of vegan products on Amazon that come up if you search on "vegan BCAAs," it's just that some of these products indicate they're for weight GAIN!

That seems contrary to me, but perhaps someone could explain? I'm 68 but I'm thinking of getting into weight lifting. I have 4 and 5 lb. weights that I use frequently at home, for years. But I need more formal approach with a trainer, given that I don't know too much about it. The "weight gain" from the BCAA products is probably about that, my guess.

The number of people that do IF and Keto on C-D is limited from what I can see. The number of people that do Vegan Keto is probably non-existent which is why nobody has replied to you. On top of that, I don't think they would know about BCAA's. I do a Keto diet but not vegan. I get plenty of protein as it is (probably too much) and I don't lift heavy weights. I do light weights with many reps just to firm up. I recommend trying Reddit. It's a message board that has many specialized communities. They do actually have a keto vegan community.

Thank you for your response. I rewrote my inquiry and posted it in Exercise and Fitness, and came up with the following product:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXZS18X...v_ov_lig_dp_it

I'll check out Reddit; I've never visited there before!

@gguerra: Thanks for the reference to Reddit. I found all kinds of forums on IF, OMAD, and other subjects that interest me. I'm a newbie there, too, which is interesting. Thanks, again!!

You are welcome. Just a tip, when you go into a forum (called subreddit) you will see a list of related subreddits on the right. Also, they have two different layouts. The "new" and the "old" reddit. You can also do a "card", "compact" or "classic" view.

I took a look at the product you posted and it looks good.

Vegan Keto on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/HeavenlyFan/community

Her recipe for vegan “meatballs” is excellent, we aren’t vegan and we still make and enjoy them regularly as part of a low-carb lifestyle.
