I am not counting calories, unlike a fasting day where I also have less than 20 carbs but only consume approx. 600 calories.
Oh, okay. I understand.

This is a problem!! I didn't have to go anywhere today and I was hungry this morning, so I had just a regular meal (rice, vegetables, coffee) and then, a few minutes ago, like 12 hours later, had a small spinach salad with white rice, walnuts, carrots and vinaigrette, with lemon water).

I am having to go into the kitchen at night to put the cat food away so as not to feed the mice. And the kitchen is way over on the opposite side of the house from my bedroom. And of course my cat accompanies me and I have to sit and let him nosh a bit before I put his food away. So I have that extra, tiny meal that I would not normally have.

I don't think I can go without breakfast, and I don't think I can sit in the kitchen at night without having something--thus destroying autophagy and my chances of slimming down a bit more. What a stupid, stupid problem!!

Put the cat food somewhere besides the kitchen?
I'm thinking cooler or mini-fridge...

I thought of that but I don't want to lure the mice into any other parts of the house.

How many mice do you have?
You do NOT want mice in your house. They can cause a great deal of damage.
I'm pretty sure that my gas fireplace isn't working because rodents got down the vent and gnawed through the igniter wiring.

I don't know. I don't think very many. I replaced the stove a few weeks ago and it must have disturbed their lives a bit. I'm NOT going on a murderous rampage and attempt to kill them, so don't even suggest it. I had the place scoured with clorox, they plugged the entry spots with steel wool and we spread peppermint oil in all the cabinets. There's not a crumb for them to eat, as everything is stored in glass jars. And the kitchen is freezing when I'm not in there.

I know you won't. I was actually going to suggest that you find yourself a good electrician.
I also think that the mice won't come around if you put the cat food in a mini fridge that latches.

Something like this should do the trick:

Those little 6-pack coolers don't cost much.

I have to leave the cat food out during the day. So if I'm not at home or outside, the mice might get to it. Edward, my cat, is a very gentle, sweet boy. I'm pretty sure he'd just look at them, in boredom. I doubt he'd do anything. Not his style.

My wife has a skink named Bunny that would definitely murder a mouse if given an opportunity.

He's a big boy...

Yikes! What the hell is that? A skink ???

Skinks are lizards belonging to the family Scincidae and the infraorder Scincomorpha. With more than 1,500 described species, the Scincidae are one of the most diverse families of lizards. Wikipedia
Family: Scincidae; Gray, 1825
