I wonder if people would like to do a food diary? I know it would help me. I added a survey on eating protocols. You can choose more than one answer, but I voted for my current practice, which is preferable. If your response is "Other," please elaborate in your response? I'll start:
Type of diet: IF, OMAD 22:2
Length: Four months. Started with two meals, late August. Switched to OMAD two weeks later
Type of diet: Alternate Day Fasting.
Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday... low carb, not counting calories.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday... one 600 calorie meal at dinnertime. No eating since dinner the day before, a 24 hr fast.
My regimen is based on this study: https://casereports.bmj.com/content/...cr-2017-221854
I decided to give it a try because I'm a diabetic and I want to minimize it.
"Curing" myself is probably a pipe dream, but we'll do the best we can.
Monday 12-24
Chef Salad...
Garden Salad with Broccoli, Cauliflower, Black Forest Ham and (3) Hard Boiled Eggs. Zesty Italian Dressing.
That'll be all for today... 600 calories.
Advance warning - tomorrow is not gonna be pretty... it's a "free" day!!

Then we'll see if I can fast for 2-6 days. I have no idea.
I'm gonna eat a whole bunch of crap. There are three different pies!
When I was younger, I was a pretty tough minded competitor at some very high levels.
I had a real reputation for not "choking". I made the other guy choke. Don't give me an opening if you want to win.
I'm looking at this as a competition vs. myself and I don't intend to lose.
P.S... I love cornbread and mashed potatoes.
When I'm on a "free" day and there are taters, there is literally a mountain of them on my plate.
Yeah, I make really good cornbread. And good cornbread dressing with mushrooms, onions and celery.
I'm pretty competitive, too. And I have gallstones and I'm hoping the fast will help.
Some of the people who fast report the oddest things, hard to believe. Like degenerative osteoarthritis goes way down in terms of pain. And--get this--women in their '70's getting their periods again, IIRC, or maybe it was the doctor having to do pregnancy counseling. Pa-lees! Let's not let that happen. That's not one bit funny.
Tuesday 12-25
Three Tacos.
Three small pieces of pie.
One cookie.
Nuff said.
Now we fast...
Yep. Mineral water, tap water, ice, decaf green tea. Until Jan. 1st, then break fast gently.
