So I was on the 16:8 and I am ready for the 5:2 IF.

So according to my research, on the 2 days, that I am "fasting", I am to eat 500-600 calories. Does this change with heights? For example, if I am taller than average, I should eat a little more. If am shorter, I should eat a little less.

Does anyone have experience with this? And how is it for you compared to the 16:8 IF?

Think of it as 1/4 of your maintenance calories. 500 calories for women is based on a 2000 calorie diet.

That being said, my maintenance calories are between 1300-1500 which would be 325-75 calories and I just can't do that few. When I have a 5:2 fast day, I eat about 550 calories.

Yup, my maintenance calories is around 1300 too. I don't think I can do 300 calories. I will try and stick to 500-600 calories.

I work out during my non-fasting days so I hope that will help.

FYI: I find eating my 550 calories during a 2 hour eating window to be helpful as well. I usually fast 18:6 with an occasional 20:4, but on a 5:2 fast day I aim for 22:2 - it makes it easier for me.

Thank you Lucy.

I will try to stretch eating as much as I can ---not eating when my body is not hungry. I will wait for the "hunger" signal.Usually that is about 3ish to -7 pm. For some reason, even without fasting, I have to eat around 3ish to 4pm, and then again at 7pm.

That's a very decent window to get your 500 ish calories in during! And still 20:4 - good call and good luck!

You only eat 500 calories a day? Maybe I'm not understanding this concept, but isn't that too little to eat daily?

It isn't daily.

5:2 IF is eating your maintenance calories five days a week and eating 500-600 calories on the other two, non-consecutive, days. The result is a weekly calorie deficit of about 3000-3500 calories which is approximately 1 pound per week - a perfectly safe and acceptable weight loss amount.
