There is no scientific evidence that high fructose corn syrup causes obesity. High caloric intake is what causes obesity.

High caloric foods are just about all modern wheat appetite stimulating selections contained in: fast food, frozen food, and processed food items. High fructose corn syrup in sodas are certainly not caloric friendly.

And yes processed foods are not generally the most nutritious but many eat these and are not overweight, whats wrong with frozen food?

Modern wheat is an appetite stimulant, prior to the mid 1980's obesity was quite rare. Frozen food and processed food is mostly garbage with hundreds of ingredients and preservatives. Soybean oil is ubiquitous in many frozen foods as well, avoid like the plague.

Frozen broccoli has one ingredient, great stuff. Now contrast that with frozen food items like Anytizers or Hot Pockets, they are frankenfoods in every sense.

It's not that shocking to me and it will only get worse.

Meanwhile, the diet industry is over a billion dollars, profiting off people starting, stopping, and regaining.

Obviously, telling people "don't eat this" doesn't work.

Displaying calorie counts on menus doesn't mean much either.

Mocking obese people calling them "super chubby fatsos" doesn't work.

Even getting health issues doesn't seem to move the needle.

Just like smoking, there's no easy solution. It all starts with the mind.

Breads, cereals, and pastas are appetite stimulants? Just downed 8 oz of pasta and I have not desire to eat anything else. So much for it being a stimulant

So it's not the wheat that makes processed foods simulating it is the fact these fast foods are high in processed carbs and fats that make them stimulating. Last time I checked whole wheat was a modern wheat that is not stimulating to the appetite.

They don't stimulate my appetite either. I think the big disconnect is that people are confusing junk foods with healthy foods. There is nothing wrong with wheat. If you highly processes it and add fats and sugar then as a whole that food is not healthy and may stimulate hunger. Obviously those foods should be avoided or eaten in moderation.

Blanketing all 'carbs' as the enemy is another common mistake. There is no need to eliminate any food group, even sugar, GASP!, as long as moderation and common sense are applied.

Over eating added to playing on cellphones, Game boys, and Social media = obesity.
