Hi, anyone have an allergy to avocado. For the last 3 years or so, I’ve notice the few times I’ve eaten avocado, my tummy would hurt. I read that taking aloe Vera supplements could help, curious, does anyone here have or had a similar issue and if so, what did you do?

I don't have an allergy but just realized it's NOT high on my B type list of foods...so I've backed off eating them, just maybe 2 a week. OP just stop eating them and see how you feel.

I haven’t had it in ages but it’s driving me nuts why this happened. Curious if anyone else has had this issue. Same thing with Pear (larger version of an avocado)

If it was a true food allergy, you'd have an immune reaction--lips would itch, wheezing, etc. If you have digestive issues, that's not an allergy.

There's a difference between a food your GI tract doesn't tolerate well for whatever reason and an allergy to it. Most allergic reactions trigger histamine reactions including hives or swelling of hands or feet, itchy eyes, lips, mouth, throat or nose, respiratory tract symptoms like runny nose, congestion, asthma, difficulty breathing. Just stomach pain itself...seems doubtful, but stomach discomfort and vomiting are listed as potential symptoms.

Are you by chance allergic to latex? Some of the proteins are similar.

Thanks I’ll give it a read. In terms of allergy to latex, not to my knowledge. It’s clearly tummy issues

Avocados are quite high in amines........some people have problems if they eat foods containing too many amines.
