Seems copper deficiency is being missed a lot. It can be caused by gastric bypass surgery but often shows up years later. It can be caused by too much zinc in your diet. Zinc and copper compete for absorption from the gut and the zinc wins. If you are taking large doses of zinc in pills such as PresaVision or injecting it from your denture cream which contains zinc then copper could be getting blocked out. If you feel your feet are kind of numb and tingly all the time and/or they feel heavy and you are having problems walking, check your history and diet. If your copper level is not corrected the issues could spread to your entire legs and then your arms. If you have some weird neurological problem that they just do not seem to be able to get a handle on and you are getting worse, GET A COPPER LEVEL TEST!!
Thank you! Seems zinc is always pushed when there is a bug going around and it seems to be in everything! No symptoms that I can tell - but it will be on the next blood profile I order soon.
Copper is not a heavy metal. You need about 2 mg a day. Normal level is 75 to 175 in the blood. The absorption of copper is on a competitive nature with zinc and iron. So take too much of either of those and copper loses.
