I'm pretty sure that the taiji teacher / OMD they're referring to is Daniel Reid; if so, he knows his stuff.

Are we being promised an easy, no effort diet that will be more effective than the standard calorie/carb cutting diet + exercise? Those who are obese (these would not be the people trying to lose that last 20lbs) are capable of accelerated fat loss without huge effort... but people who are relatively lean don't lose fat quite as easily, so the claim of 5lbs/week is eyebrow-raising. The misrepresentations are also strong: lowering one's calorie intake != starvation diet. I smell snake oil.
