can anyone who has had success with this eating plan provide some comments? I have some friends who have changed their eating to this style and are doing great. I am wondering specifically about the first two weeks of the plan!

The first two weeks of this plan really, really, really suck. You have to cut out all sugar and that includes fruit and most carbohydrates. You can have beans, but if you don't like beans, then that's no consolation. Those first two weeks are very close to the Atkins diet except you're not allowed bad fats, either. So, no bacon. This way of eating is a lower fat, lower carbohydrate plan, so you will begin adding things back in after the initial two weeks have lapsed. Everyone I know added fruit (and wine) back in first, then things like toast. That helps. The difficult part is those first two weeks and then it gets easier and easier. Eventually, you change your eating style and don't even realize you're dieting.
