I have been a big eater all of my life and like to savor the finer foods. I don't enjoy fast food. I hate how fast food restaurants moved toward giving more and more food / drinks for meals.
Luckily, I am not obese due to a higher metabolic rate and a Type A personality.
I now eat only when hungry which has helped me lose weight.
Why do you eat? Because you're hungry or is it because of an external trigger such as the smell of food, a commercial, a key word, the sight of food?
For those who do eat due to cravings, are you overweight?
I usually eat when I'm hungry and that's like every 4 hours - sometimes four meals a day. I'm the same size 10 I've been most of my adult life, although in the winter I put on a couple more pounds and need to wear size 12 jeans to accommodate my thermal long-johns
I average about 128 lbs. and am faithful to the Mediterranean style diet - except NO red meat, NO dairy, NO deli foods, NO junk foods, etc.
I do cheat occasionally when eating out (Mexican food or veggie pizza) but not too often because my good health is more important than the bad feeling I get after cheating.

Reason: addition
When I was growing up, my mom was a great cook. When she was happy, she made cookies. When she was sad, she also made cookies. Unfortunately, I learned to do the same and I loved the cookie dough!
I have trigger foods and I just can't get rid of the 15-20 pounds I need to lose!
I over eat because of cravings. I used to be fat, but am now average weight. I still over eat due to cravings, but I've learned to control how often I do it, and I eat fewer calories in between the overeating days to make up for it.
