I know you're supposed to drink a lot of water, I think it's 6 to 8 glasses a day right? Would it hurt anything if you drink more than that? I mean would you be in danger of starting to retain the water and water weight? And is it still considered getting your recommend water consumption if you add Crystal Light to your water?

The 6-8 glasses is a myth. It includes all liquid including what you get from food. If you drink too much water you risk disturbing your electrolyte balance and that's really dangerous. Drink when you are thirsty.

When our body is around 70% water, why would 6-8 glasses be a myth?
mrsclmn, shoot for half your body weight in ounces. so if you weigh 120 lbs, you would drink 60 ounces. A little more than that is ok, especially if you drink coffee or tea (because they are dehydrating) but yes, too much water disturbs your electrolyte balance.

The myth is that you have to drink 6-8 glasses of water a day in addition to what ever you get out of food, coffee, tea etc. You get water from most things you eat.

I agree with half of your body weight measurement as a guide.

Yes actually, all food has some moisture in it. Thats why people don't die, because there is no way everyone replaces liquid lost by drinking. You get more from fruit and veg of course.

Follow the rule that your urine should be clear. You'll notice you feel a whole lot better when you drink alot of water.

I drink around 320 oz of water a day.. I know, alot of water. I think Im addicted. I drink 32 oz before work, about 32 oz of water an hour at work, and 32 oz after work, if not more.

But I also lose about 4 pounds of water weight by the time I go to the sleep til I wake up
