And which loses weight more quickly and effectively?

I am 5'11 and 245 lbs. I have lost about 60 lbs. My goal is get down to 200 lbs, but I am stuck at 245 for the past several months.

I do mostly bike riding every other day for an hour and walking every day up to an hour. I eat about 1800-2200 calories a day. Is that too much?

Should I increase my exercise or lower my calories?

Also I lift some weights and can lift 100 lbs. I am using protein shakes.

I can wear 35" waist trousers now. Isnt that pretty good?

What can I do to get down to 200 lbs or less?

Slight dieting and burning off all the weight through exercise is best! I went from 205 lbs to 139 lbs by biking 5030 miles in 2 years with slight dieting / eating in moderation. But I still ate ANYTHING like Ben & Jerry's and Pecan Pie!

Would you buy my online book of "Weight Loss by Biking and a little Weightlfting" ? - I'm still writing this book!

How hungry are you on a daily basis?
Do you need to discipline yourself to not eat too much?
Will you ever weigh more than 145 pound the rest of your life?

Sure, anybody can eat one tablespoon of Ben and Jerry's once a month and make claims they can eat anything. Big deal.

you must do both but it takes 10 miles of running to burn 1000 calories so
you can eat a 10 minute fast food meal and consume 3000 calories.
so you know what to do.

Are you uncomfortably hungry during the day?
Do you feel deprived?
Could you maintain this regimen for the rest of your life?

Have you spoken with a medical professional about your health before querying an anonymous internet forum?

How many calories does riding a bike for an hour burn?

So, what I am reading is you are eating a satisfactory amount and you weigh 245. What I am wondering is, how did you get to 305 if you were happy eating the amount of food that maintains 245?

A person burns approximately 2/3 of a calorie per pound-mile of running (or walking - see below).

So this dude weighs 245 and if he runs 10 miles he will burn about 2/3 of 2450 or around 1600 calories.

Interestingly, it doesn't make too much difference whether you run or walk, you burn about the same calories in the same distance (a little less for walking because it is more efficient than running). The area under the curve is about the same.
