So, my dogs have Kibbles n Bits. Earlier I was pouring some cat food into a container (Meow Mix) and my dog was eating it as I was pouring it. She had a full bowl of Kibbles n Bits.

I realize dog food has more of the nutrients they need (though I just buy the cheap stuff). Why do dogs seem to love cat food so much?

Probably because cat food has a higher protein and fat content. Just a guess though.

Yeah............why can't they make dog food taste like cat food? Dogs sure do love it. Cat food is bad for dogs though, because of the taurine in it. A bite here and there is OK, but a dog on a steady diet of cat food will get liver problems if I remember correctly.

Not only does my dog think cat food is better, she will eat cat poop! I have to clean it all up or she'll run to it like it's Almond Roca...It just gags me...

That's really funny ^^. I agree that it is the higher fat and protein content. You might think about switching your dogs to a higher protein formula or supplementing their diet with treats that are high in fat and protein, unless their breed or health requirements require otherwise.

i think it has more to do with dogs being scavengers in addition to hunters...... bailey and dave REVEL in deer and rabbit and goose poop ..... and i know that is not higher in protein or fat..... its just stinky poop....... stinky to us but GLORIOUS to them......
