My Border Collie mixed that I named Gladys after one of my aunts was also real smart.

A border collie that has been called "the world's smartest dog" died Tuesday at age 15. Chaser, a black-and-white pup given to Dr. John W. Pilley by his wife when the dog was 8 weeks old, learned to recognize 1,022 nouns thanks to Pilley's training.

When I read the thread title, I knew it was going to be that border collie. I remember seeing him and his toy chest lol on TV when he was young.

He was truly a remarkable dog.

They also said that his elderly owner/trainer had died a few years earlier.

Chaser's story is pretty amazing. I read the book her owner wrote about her last year. It was sad to heasr she had passed but I am sure she really missed the man who raised and taught her.
