My little dog was attacked by some dogs, and has multiple puncture wounds in neck. We took him asap to vet. Got shots, cleaned wound, got meds. Today he hasn't gotten up at all. He did eat a scrambled egg and grank some water. Is this normal?
Thank you in advance for any help.
Kelly

I am so sorry for your little dog. I hope the little thing recovers soon. It was very wise of you to get him to the vet asap and get him treatment. I would watch him and as long as he is drinking water and going to the bathroom I would just let him rest and watch him. If you don't feel that things are going well call your vet back. Remember he has probably been traumatized and the meds may make him a bit slugglish.

He has not gone to the Bathroom, but is eating and drinking in small amounts. I am gonna take him back to the Vet in the AM if he hasn't gotten up.

Can he move his legs? Is he moving his head and neck well enough to follow you with his head as you walk about the room? Have you tried to help him stand? Any signs he could be in pain, spinal pain specifically?

Poor little pup. It is a bit concerning that he hasn't pottied. Do your best to keep him hydrated, even if that means adding some broth to the water to tempt him. Let us know what the vet says tomorrow. Paws crossed.

Yes He can move his legs. When I go to him in his bed or my husband he moves them like hes glad we are there. He isnt picking up his head, but does follow us with his eyes. The largest wounds are on the side he is laying on. I will most def. tell you all what vet says. I love him very much! He is our baby!

News on Taz. Late Sunday night he got up, and went to the bathroom. Called the vet Monday they told me that it was the trauma, and perfectly normal for him. He got up ate breakfast then potty. He has an appointment on friday. Still very sore, but the wounds look good only the largest causes trouble. putting peroxid on them. Hopefully gets good report after his appointment. Thank you so much for your posts and concern!
