I have a Travelin' Dog Pet Harness for the dog. It is supposed to hook up to the seatbelt. I put her in the back seat right behind me.

But, when I put the seatbelt through the harness, the design of the seatbelt is NOT TO REMAIN TAUT unless the car stops quickly, at which point it locks into a taut position. So since the belt moves to some extent, the dog can twist and turn, and does.

Am I doing something wrong? I don't understand how to make the seatbelt "unslideable" and the dog will take the opportunity to try moving around. This isn't safe since she can get tangled up. And I can't be reaching back to untangle her.

I have asked several customer service people, but we're not communicating well. Maybe there is something basic that I am doing wrong when I hook her up, b/c the customer service person says the seat belt shouldn't move. But it does!

For reference this is what I have: Good Pet Stuff

When you loop the belt through and after you buckle, pull the belt until it has no more slack. Kind of like you would when putting in a child safety seat, you have to pull the belt to make it taut otherwise it's worthless in a crash.

Glad to hear it worked! I didn't know how to describe it correctly so I'm glad you understood that!
