I just got a puppy from a woman and she told me she thinks he's Collie and Rhodesian Ridgeback but she's not sure. The dog just wandered onto her property one day and was so skinny so she took him in and got him healthy and rehomed him. I am not so sure about the Rhodesian Ridgeback part although he does have the fur going in a different direction down his back like the Ridgeback, but he has ears that stick up all the time, and Collies and Ridgebacks don't have that, so I am confused and would really like to know what he is, thank you. He is very sweet but kind of protective too, he's an awesome dog!

Looks like part Siberian husky (possibly Alaskan malamute if he gets very big), shepard or collie - very cute pup - best of luck w/ him.

How about calling him Chance since he found his 2nd chance with you?

I was thinking some sort of collie/husky/shepherd mix too. just b/c the hair is growing oddly on the back doesn't necessary mean it's part Ridgeback (kind of like a dog having a blue tongue doesn't automatically mean it's a chow mix).

super cute pup though. unbelievable to think he was just wandering around, starving.

OMG, he's gorgeous! Even before I read your whole post, I definitely saw Collie. He's going to be a stunning dog. Thanks for saving him.
