so the kid i reseaved DOZER from, said that he did not want him, and so i got him, now he wants him back, i told him dozer ran away, lol i even put up fliers, i cant give this dog back the kid didnt take that good care of him.... he used to leave him in a crate all day and i found out he had heart worms once i got him so i got it all fixed and dozer HATES the kid now, dozer has ajusted well with me.. i cant loose him to an idiot. so what do i do to get him in my name so i can have him? if i just take him to the vet for his shots and say he gave me the dog, will they put him in my name?I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!! I CANT LOOSE MY DOZER BOY!!!
Find out where this kid got the dog. Contact that place first and explain what happens, if you have to, pay the kid money for adoption and be done with it. Dogs will be yours, you can macrochip him in your name. Done deal.
I know very little about law, but I KNOW that verbal contract is biding. If you have a witness that was there when that kid told you that he doesn't want the dog, you can just go to "small claims court" and there won't be any problems. Or you can listen to Sheps Mom advice. You can even get it registered on your name ( because you have to in order to get a "dog liscence" ) and they'll see a dog as your dog...Tell us how it goes...
Well, 20 is not a kid. How about you offer him money to buy the dog? In the worst case scenerio, you can give this dog back to him, but mention that if he does not take care of the dog, you'll contact animal control?? You would offer money first and go from there
APBT -- agh i can loose him, so if i get his rabies tag, do they need any info on him or me when i get that done, will they know he already had it done? what about the chip where do i go for that!!!???? i LOVE this dog.
