greys are great but tend to be HEAVY seasonal shedders and are quite large...they dont weigh alot but are very tall and that can make long distance car travel tough without enough space for them to actually strtch out. (a station wagon for example is a perfect greyhound "bus" lol)
you also have to be incredibly carefull with prey drive, many cant be trusted with cats and very small dogs, and NO Sighthound should EVER EVER be trusted off leash EVER!
they can also be a little difficult to train for those unfamiliar with the ways of a sighthound...its more like trying to train a cat, there aloof, can be stubborn and have selective hearing, there increidbly sensitive and will simply shut down if the tone of voice isnt what there comofortable with.
the sighthound group has a reputation for being "dumb" because of this tendency to be hard to train...
personally i think it makes them the smartest group, they simply dont listen blindly to humans, they ask "why should i?" rather than just doing it, there the kind of dogs to figure out if its worth it, and if there an easier wa fof doing it...
this makes a great dog for someone whos prepared for that, but for a novice dog owner this can be quite frustrating and challenging.
also sighthounds are sprinters.there great for a FAST relitivly short run...but there not built for endurance...so there NOT good jogging or hiking partners!
