A friend in NJ is fostering a small pup, only 5lbs and it needs surgery she can't afford. She found a really good Yorkie Rescue in NC willing to do it and then care for the pup. This pup needs to go from NJ to NC and needs a ride so if anyone happens to be taking that trip and willing to help, please let me know. She has mammory tumors and was severely neglected but she is friendly. She has had her rabies shots but they wouldn't do the bordatella and distemper because of the tumors. She's sweet and needs help. The person fostering her and I want to make sure she will actually get to her destination so please don't be offended if we ask a lot of questions or want to doing any checking. It's just to protect the pup.

I wonder if posting on the NJ forum would help - Thanksgiving is around the corner and ppl there may be visiting family/friends in NC - heck, the pup c/h hitched a ride w/ us bc last wk we drove from NJ to FL where we are now (alth. we were packed to the gills), we also had a crate w/ our 2 girls and it worked out fine. Glad a rescue is stepping up to the plate for her and all the best to her and her foster family and everyone else involved to help her have a happy healthy rest-of-the-life she deserves. I think everyone understands the need for you to ask questions just to be on the safe side, most ppl wouldnt be offended, it goes w/ the territory ;-)

Also post in NC forum and specifically where pup is going-I'm guess NC State in Raleigh? The more folks who see this, the better chances of a ride.

The Yorkie rescue in NC might want to contact PETS, LLC
P.E.T.S. LLC - Animal Rescue Road Trips

and see if they might be able to help when they are running empty back down to the south.

The other possibility is the volunteer transport groups that can be found at can be found at Yahoo groups. Again it would have to be the rescue organization who would have to make the arrangements and contact some transport coordinators.

If you want to send me a DM with the contact info for the Yorkie rescue I can assist them if they are not already familiar with the volunteer transports and don't have any contacts with coordinators who would put together the actual run.
