So my dog LOVES her red Kong. Sometimes it goes missing for a while so I try to get her to play with the other red kong that we bought for her. Slightly different shape but same texture, etc. She refuses. She knows as soon as I throw it that it's not the right one and stops running mid-way to the thrown toy.

She does play with other toys (tennis balls) but some she flat out rejects.

Yours do the same?

Kona, my ball dog, will only play with a certain type of ball. I bought 300 of them about 8 years ago before the company stopped producing them, can't find them anywhere now and we only have a few dozen left. It will be a sad, sad day in Kona-land when we get to the last ball.

Ab-so-lutely.

They'll only play with the tiniest plush squeaky toy on the planet, the extra-small Kong teddy bear or duck.

They're about 2.5" long and fit perfectly in their tiny Chi mouths. I stopped buying any other toy, because they simply won't play with them.

oh yeah..Ruby doesnt like ANY toys...at all...but she will play chase the red dot (laser pointer) jasper only likes "soft" toys, and of those he has a preference for the skinneeze brand toys...(stuffing free soft animals)
Even dozer is quite picky, he wont play with a ball if its not the right size, he prefers the tiny tennis balls (there gumball sized in his big ole mouth but he wont play with a normal ball...he prefers the smaller of the cuz toys we have ect...
he doesnt discriminate when it comes to stuffies though, hell happily desqueek debeack, dewing, de stuff any of those lol.
