i think it is disgusting when you turn on the news or read on your computer that someone has beaten up a dog, left him in a hot car, burned him all for no apparent reason!! How can people hurt something so innocent? Have you ever looked into the eyes of a dog? All you see is innocence. They do not have a malicious bone in their bodies and yet people still abuse them. Alot of people cannot understand why it is that we that are owners of pets have such a hard time when something terrible happens to a dog/cat,etc. For instance, there was a blog the other day and someone was upset because their dog of 14 years had just been put down. One of the posts on the blog said "what's the big deal, it's just a dog. They don't have any feelings, they have no souls." maybe that person who wrote that has no feelings and no soul. Because obviously if you write something like that in response to someone losing a "family member" because that is what they are, then you are the animal, not the dog!! We are their voices because they can't speak for themselves, because if they could speak boy oh boy would they have alot to say. They are the purest, most innocent things on this planet. I'm sorry if i went on an on but this is a very touchy subject for me. I rescued my dog when he was 3 months old. He is now 3 years old and he has brought nothing but love and caring into my life. 3 months after i brought him home, my mom passed away. That was the hardest day of my life and when i received that call and i started to cry, my son jovy (pointer/lab mix) came over to me and just sat there as if to say "it's okay, i'm here." i don't know what i would do without him. He is the love of my life and i could never imagine not having him in my life. So please, please--stop abusing our animals! They are there for us to take care of them and they in return take care of us!! Love them, don't hurt them. They don't deserve it. Thank you and god bless you all.

I definitely understand what you're saying. I think if you leave your dog tied up outside in 100 degrees with no food, water, or shade, then the same damn thing should be done to you. We should hold the same standards of treatment for people for animals, IMO. My dog is the best creature I know. He would never ever hurt anyone on purpose or make me sad or upset, ever. He's always happy to see me and he gives me unconditional love. I can't say that about most people I know.

^^ Took the words right out of my mouth.

You're talking to people on a dog forum. We all love our dogs here. They are family to us.
