The cats are more likely to sit on top of the fence and tease your dog because they'll know she wants to get at them but can't reach them. Cats are evil like that.
I stressed out majorly about this when we first moved into our house.
And then I started finding cat poop all over our front and (fenced) back yard, watched a cat dig up my flowers, and have seen them sleep on my front porch causing my dog to go insane at the window trying to get to them.
Now, if my dog got a cat in my backyard, I've realized it's the dumb owner's fault for letting their cat go outside all the time. I would still be traumatized and heartbroken, of course...but there's only so much I can do as a dog owner. I let Lucy chase after them (on leash) on our property to try to scare them away, but they are stubborn suckers.
