When you hear about a man saving his dog from a sinking ship, it’s hard to not be moved by the tale of an animal lover’s heroism. But the story becomes slightly less heroic when you learn that the man saved his dog before his own wife.

But that’s apparently what happened when Graham Anley and his wife, Cheryl, found their yacht sinking after it hit a reef while on a voyage from East London to Madagascar.

Man saves dog from sinking ship, then goes back for wife

Dog, not woman, is man's best friend.

Was she driving the boat when it crashed? It would explain a lot.

He knows who he's friend is. You can replace a woman, you can never replace a dog.

When my uncle saw that he and my aunt were in the path of a driver who wasn't paying attention, he knew that he had time to save my aunt or the dog. He made a calculated risk and pulled their cockapoo out of the way of the oncoming car. My aunt got hit and ended up with a badly bruised hand. The car was going slowly, and my uncle knew that my aunt would not be seriously injured, but that the dog would likely be killed. Afterwards, Auntie said if he hadn't saved the dog, they'd have been taking him to the hospital. My uncle tends to be very good at snap decisions, so she trusts him completely - years ago, it was his quick thinking that saved them when a telephone pole fell across their car and draped it in live power lines.

I'm glad your uncle isnt married to any of my relatives. Saving a dog at the cost of human injury? What if the car suddenly picked speed and crushed her? Human life/well being >>>>> dogs, cats, snakes, etc. in my book of course

If there was an accident or a fire and my husband rescued his dog before me I would be extremely upset at him.
