Before you choose a "dog whisperer" for your professional dog trainer or pick a dog obedience class from one of the many Seattle area dog training schools, make sure you are comfortable with applying their dog training methods to your puppy.
...Or even your child, because you will start to apply the methods from your dog training class to the rest of your life! [To learn more about Zen and the Art of Dog Training in Seattle at Ahimsa, read our dog and puppy training philosophy.]
Indeed. I had a dog that used to bite me. Didn't break the skin, but definitely not the type of obedience we strive for. Rolling her on her back would work for a few months, so you're stuck in the whole 'wash, rinse, repeat' loop.
Clearly a timeout/ignore period would have been much more productive.
I found a website that has a section just for puppys if you want to check it out. I would recommend natural dog food as it is more gentle on your puppy's stomach. Check our dogseatingnatural.com for a range of natural dog foods, chews and treats for your dog. They have a youtube video on their website that I found helpful as well. Hope this helps
