My sister has a theory. She believes people feel responsible. Admitting they knew something is like admitting they should have done something. In this vet's case, admitting he did something is like admitting that their pets may have been victims of his abuse. They can't look at their pets and believe that. They are more comfortable with denial. As long as they support him and believe he's innocent, they don't have to worry about what happened to their pets there.

As someone who has recently had to put my own dog to sleep to relieve her suffering from multiple seizures, honestly this scares the **** out of me considering that there are probably other vet clinics around the country that do the same thing and have gotten away with it. Hopefully this vet receives some serious jail time in addition to having his license suspended as opposed to just a slap on the wrist.

I've been around vet med for a couple of decades now. Please be assured that this is not something that just happens sometimes. Everyone I've talked to both locally and nationwide via internet has been as shocked and appalled by this vet's behavior as I am.
