Remember the story about the guy who put a very big tattoo on his dog while he was recovering from other surgery?

Tattoo is one of the best methods of placing permanent ID onto a dog or cat to help you recover the animal if it is lost or stolen.

No issues with this at all

animal tattoos would only be permitted if it is determined a permanent mark on the skin is needed for a medical benefit or would be used strictly for identification purposes.

I was going to give my dog a tattoo with a heart shape with the word "mom" inside it. I guess I can't do it now.

Read the article folks

The soon-to-be-law, which gained bipartisan support and was endorsed by the Humane Society of New York, prohibits "unnecessary body modification" of animals but includes an exemption for piercings or tattoos for the purpose of medical identification

Yes! Vividly! It was ALL over the place.

Odd that the lady Politician was pushing for this since 2011 because of discovering the "gothic cats", yet a skilled, professional Tattoo artist -- under his vet's supervision! -- gets all the attention and action (and lost his job), isn't it? A mere THREE months ago!

(Wow, if people feel so strongly about that Tattoo artist, wonder if they've ever seen pictures of what declawing entails )

I remember reading and even seeing pictures of the gothic cats. disgusting to the extreme. I don't see how the tattoo artist could lose his job unless he brought negative attention to his employer. Did he? In any event he was extremely naive to let that picture and information out into the public.

Yet it's been a non-issue since 2011?

It's still all about him. HIM. I thought you were a cat owner? Why no mention in "Cats" about how it was those "gothic" *kittens* which prompted the lady to push for such a ban to begin with? (Is there a thread per-day limit now?)

Three YEARS ago! Three years and NOTHING until this guy posts his Veterinary Supervised antic on social media.

Peoples' *priorities with the "social media" rapid-fire craze perplex me to no end...
