I read that article and burst into tears at the accompanying photos. I don't believe their "explanation" that the dogs had health issues and think that it was in direct retaliation for losing the contract. I have NO WORDS that I can use on C-D to express my loathing for the security company and its' personnel for their actions.

Yes, simply horrible. What kind of person feels justified making that kind of decision.....
Not only offensive, but economically stupid. The USA is full of police departments that will pay really good money for a trained sniffer dog.
Although, if the dogs are in the Middle East, there is a quarantine procedure to bring them back to the USA. It's not just put them on a plane and there you go. If no one planned ahead, I can see where it would cause a serious problem.
What it all boils down to is MONEY! They don't want to feed them and it costs too much to fly the out to other homes or police departments, etc. I find it amazing how ALL the dogs had something wrong all at the same time. They think that we are so stupid.
