From Home Again's website. You can update for NO extra charge, even if no longer paying the annual membership fee. ....

How much does HomeAgain membership cost pet owners?

Following the first year of HomeAgain membership (which is regularly priced at $19.99 but may be offered at a discount through a HomeAgain vet clinic or shelter), pet owners will be able to maintain their exclusive member benefits by renewing their annual membership at a nominal cost of $19.99 per year.
Note: microchip registration is included with the first year of HomeAgain membership. Once registered, microchips remain in the HomeAgain database permanently and may be updated online at no charge anytime by logging into HomeAgain.com, regardless of annual membership status.

I find dogs all the time, chase them, and return them and people act like it is no big deal. How can you say you love an animal but then don't make sure they are safe? That really baffles me.
I'm not a helicopter dog owner. My interaction with dog and hunting was always the dog would run off sometimes and not been seen for an hour or more. I'm very careful in the city with my dog since it likely to get ran over by a car.

Just yesterday a dog found on the side of the road was reunited with his owner in a matter of hours. Unfortunately, the owner did not transfer registration after adopting the dog from our rescue 7 years ago but the vet he was turned in to contacted us and I brought him home with me until the owner could be found. It was a happy story all around.
