Here is a good website called Dog Food Advisor.
https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/

I want my dogs to eat good food, but am busy and don’t know much about dog nutrition. I let this website do the grading of different brands. I like to see my dogs eat food rated a four or five and it’s easy to check. They also let you know about recalls.

YAY!

Taste of the Wild dry got 4.5 stars! It had that rating when I started feeding it some years back, so they are consistent a safe ---- so far.

There was a point in time I fed this to four dogs ranging from 45# to 130#. I am down to two 80# dogs and was ecstatic when the local Pet Sense started a "buy 10 get one free" and TOTW was included on that promotion.

I feed the Pacific Stream and none of the dogs who ate (or are still eating) this have ever had skin or digestive issues.

My ancient one that has passed on loved Orijen Six Fishes, along with a bowl of homemade bone broth. My current ones love Orijen too, they are on the original.

I always feed grain free no matter what and I measure my dogs food as well that way they never overeat . Seems like picking the right food is always a discussion or a battle .

I would not feed anything without consulting www.dogfoodadvisor.com. I wouldn't feed anything below 4 stars. I feed my personal dogs a raw diet and when I need to feed something else, mainly when traveling, I feed ZiwiPeak (but it makes them drink a lot of water which is annoying).

I'd just like to caution you that if you change your dog's food to do so very gradually. Mix in just a little of the new food with his/her old food. Over time, gradually increase the amount of new food and decrease the amount of old food.

Changing their diet suddenly can cause stomach upset especially in an elderly dog who is accustomed to eating a certain brand of food - even if it is junk.
