Thank you for posting this- a much needed reminder that we need to honor our dog's experience and needs, however painful that might be for us.

Very good read. My Pet Sematary is filling up and the heart ache never gets easier

I am a firm believer in quality of life for my critters. Horses, dogs, cats --- when their quality of life starts to slide to where their eyes say "I love you but, I don't think I can do this anymore" it is time to send them on.

I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars on all of them, while telling my vets if I carry things too far for my own emotional sake, they had better tell me, so I can do the right thing by my animals.

We have to remember the great life we gave each of them is probably the life they would not have had, had it not been for those of us who see them to their end times and respectfully make sure they are properly laid to rest
