It's kind of like child psychologists. I've known several and never met one who didn't have screwed-up kids.
But marriage counselors would, I imagine, be prime candidates for this kind of goings on. After all, you deal with incredibly vulnerable people at a traumatic time of their lives, offering comfort, guidance, and authority. It's like this guy I knew who is a divorce lawyer. When he was single, he claimed there were very few of his female clients he didn't nail once the papers were signed -- although he swore that he never did anything while procedures were underway. I wouldn't call him a friend, because he really wasn't the kind of guy I'd want to be friends with.
They don't say how or where the information was collected. With no source information whatsoever, you have to take "stats" like that with a grain of salt.

True, that. But based on my own non-empirical observations, I'm guessing those statistics aren't too far off.
PA2UK makes a great point, but if these numbers really are accurate, then it just goes to prove a point I made in P&OC: our society is in a moral decline.

I don't know if the numbers are really that high, but surely, even if the true numbers are more like 50%, that's way too high. I don't think our society is in a moral decline though. I think it's just human nature to be selfish and to basically suck, it's really not anything new.
I'd question how and WHERE these stats were gathered, as statistics are frequently skewed to get the results the researcher wants
For example, there's a big difference between asking this question at 2:a.m. at a bar and 9:a.m. at a church or synagogue.
