My dog received her DHPP vaccine last friday. Well, last night, I noticed she was sneezing and wheezing. It's not as bad this morning as it was last night.
She seems fine other than that.

I'd like to call my vet but the office is closed on Wednesdays.

Could this be a side effect from that vaccine?

It's very unlikely. The most common reaction to vaccines is an acute allergic reaction manifested by difficulty breathy, facial swelling, hives and itching.

I've never heard of sneezing being a reaction....but one never knows. Plus, from Fri to Tues is an awlfully long time for a reaction to surface. Usually, it is within the first 12 hrs....

I think it could be...

Just cause it may not be one of the "common side effects" I think every dog (and people too) have the ability to react in different ways...

Anyway, how is she doing now?

oh, maybe it is something else since the time frame was a few days...sorry had to reread that!
Have you gone to the vet? or going to go?

The majority of vaccine allergies come from the Leptospirosis vaccine, which has severe even deadly reactions. More than likely it's just a little sneezing, but if your concerned or she doesn't get better, take her back to Vet as soon as they open again. Check her temp as well.

It could also be that the vaccine was a stress to the pup's immune system and left her vulnerable to a garden variety respiratory virus. I've had several puppies come down with a bit of a cold after immunizations.

If it were my puppy and she wasn't clearly in distress and seemed more-or-less happy, I would keep my money in my wallet and see if it clears up in a couple of days.

There might be some local irritation for a couple of days, but it usually resolves quickly. Nothing to worry about.
