IF she is over 4 yrs old your toooo late! Unless you have money for a C Section! Have you had all the genic testing done? You must make sure when you find the male he too has all the genic testing done by his owner & that they are not closely related. Do you have a pedigree? Were her parents tested? And Why are you breeding her & what are you going to do with the puppies?
Unless your dog is a near perfect speciman of the breed and has a CH in front of it's AKC name...the ans. would be NOT to breed. Being a great dog, cute and smart, and a great family pet, are not reasons to breed. Hopefully you would be prepared to spend the hundreds and hundreds of dollars it takes to certify her hip, elbows, eyes, thyroid and heart. And since I take it you do not have the male...are you willing to spend the hundreds and hundreds of dollars for a Stud fee ? We won't even get into the time and money it takes to raise a healthy litter of puppies.
Thankfully, these days, prospective buyers are doing their homework and with the help of the internet are well aware of all the red flags that identify a BackYard Breeder. Which is what you would be it your dog does not have all the certifications it needs to be breeder.
