BOULDER, Colo. — Police found an 8-month-old puppy — its feet, snout and tail bound in clear packing tape, a plastic bag and elastic hair ties — stuck to the side of a refrigerator in a Boulder home Tuesday morning, the apparent victim of a domestic dispute between its owner and his girlfriend.

Woman to police: 'There's a dog taped to the fridge' : County News : Boulder Daily Camera (http://www.dailycamera.com/news/2009/apr/14/animal-cruelty-boulder-domestic-dispute/ - broken link)

I cannot even open the story link. Something has to be done about these people who abuse animals like this. It is time animals have rights! I am disgusted, it gets worse for them everyday. There is no deterrant, this is why it will never end, but only get worse.

As a Shiba Inu owner and member of the local club this story just infuriates me. I just hope this poor pup will recover mentally from this ordeal. I posted this on our group forum and a member asked about getting into our rescue to rehabilitate but who knows what will happen. Hopefully the shelter will not put the pup down and will not adopt out to a family not familiar with the breed.

I'm embarrassed to say that this is from my neighborhood

Rex is a 2 yr old Shiba Inu, not the 8 month old puppy as originally reported. I'm glad that the dog is doing ok. I hope the owner and the gf pay the price for this heinous act.

I also cannot bear to open this link. I skip most of tragic links that are posted. They just upset me to no end. It never ceases to amaze me how cruel some humans are to animals.

For some reason it seems really extra strange when it is the woman that abused the poor dog. I don't know why though and I don't know how somebody could be so horrible and disgusting to an animal

Somebody should tape her up and put hair ties around her ankles, wrists and ears and see how she feels after an hour or so. I am glad they took her Chihuahua too. She should never be allowed to have a pet again. Unfortunately, she will probably be allowed to have a child.
