I was bit by a Dachshund as a child, does that make all of them aggressive? No, I knew it was my fault for just running up and picking the dog up.
People should not run up and pet a random dog anywhere. You should first ask the owner if the dog is able to be pet. A child being bit is also the parents fault for not teaching their child to not do such a thing.
I also agree it's the owner's fault for not containing/socializing their dog. ANY dog can be friendly/behaved with the proper training. Especially the "aggressive" breeds, I've met amazingly friendly pit bulls. Those who can't control such a dog should NOT get such a breed. It's the owner's fault for taking on something they can't handle and then having the dog be punished for it.
And I couldn't help but laugh at the comparison of dogs to big cats. Just because you have an animal sleep in your bed does not make it domesticated. That's like me saying I feed a rabid raccoon, pet it, and get bit. TOTALLY THE RACCOON'S FAULT!!
Edit: i just noticed the date on the thread. why's it in recent? nonetheless, i stand by what i said.
