sounds like a GREAT idea..... but alas.... my running days are long behind me.... .... we do do 2.5 - 3 mile walks every morning before work... and with bailey off leash for much of that, her's turns into 3.5 - 4 mile runs......

My running days are over. We do our three-mile trail at the park most days.

I have been meaning to start CP25K program for last 2 weeks. I guess I should stop procastinating and start getting on it.

Default I'm about to start a 5k training program with my dog

I did it once before and it worked great. Unfortunately, she had an accident last fall and is still in recovery. So, working up to a 5k is going to take a little longer than I'd like. Right now our target is May 1st, 2011. You can read about how we came up with this plan here - Irondoggy or Couch Potato: Using Triathlon Training Techniques to Plan Your Dog’s Rehab |

I'd be interested to hear if anyone else is training with their dog.

Sue

In our house it's more like the dogs have gone from 5k to the couch

But when we did run with our dog we worked him into it slowly. The program looks good, but you know your dog, so tailor it as necessary.
