I think it's ironic that all summer, there were signs along Glenwood St. about how it was going to undergo repair this year - and when they finally did the repairs, they were only to the top portion, near skyline drive. As soon as you get to the bottom of the hill, it's like rush hour in Kandahar, minus the IED's.

I'm sure this isn't the first post about a bad street in Duluth, but I'll bet the folks on that street are ready to stop paying taxes. I know I would be.

I was driving on that street recently and talking on the phone, and the person on the other end actually asked "what's that roar in the background?"

They did do repairs. The section from Snively to 43rd was only a mill and overlay. However, they did completely reconstruct half of Glenwood from 60th Ave East to 51st (or 52nd? Somewhere around there). It's really very nice and was the subject of a bike lane controversy last year. The section that's left is extremely awful and is due to be done this coming summer.

Got it. I figured there was more to be done since the residents in the "bad" section weren't rioting or anything.

I just thought it funny that all the signs I saw last summer trumpeting the "new street" were down in area that still isn't fixed.

Well, as a law enforcement officer, sometimes I HAVE to talk on either the radio or the phone while I drive. Radio signals aren't always the best up here, so cell towers/phones get used, as well. And suffice it to say that I'm not chatting with friends, either.

But thanks for your informative feedback, anyway.
