Is it in Duluth, Minnesota or Duluth, Georgia? He,He! My guess is if there is an industrial building to be torn down than it is either for the Clyde complex or the LaFarge site by Bayfront. Other than that, hotels are planned for Park Point and possibly the Greendale site. Speaking of hotels, check out the Radisson renovation-it's awesome!

Anybody notice this article in today's paper? New development planned on Grand Avenue in West Duluth | Duluth News Tribune | Duluth, Minnesota
It's always nice to see a new development (especially of this size!) in West Duluth.

Yes! Those two blocks, with the exception of Acme Tools, could use some t.l.c. Also last week another development is proposed at the foot of Spirit Mountain on Grand.

Meh, not really interested. Why doesn't this town use more Reuse? There are about twenty abandoned buildings in town I can name right now, why build a new one when you can just re-use or revitalize some?

What's the deal with that building on London Rd by Leif Erikson park? It's by Super One too. It's all old and decaying and just sittin' there. WTF

WHERE ARE THE BATTING CAGES IN THIS TOWN?
after growing up in the twin cities where there are cages in every suburb, i find it remarkable how there isn't any here. What does this town's youth do? Walk the 'Lakewalk'? LOL.

That's the old Armory. It was going to to be demolished earlier this decade, but was saved by the historical society and appears to be back on track to reuse. It's been a long haul, but movement has been seen more recently. Here is their website: :: Armory Arts & Music Center ::

Many believe the city attempts to reuse too much. If the Armory hadn't have been saved, a developer was actively looking to develop the lot. In my opinion, if the building hasn't been used in sometime, has fallen into disrepair, is not of any significant historical value and a developer wants to do something with the space, let them. Better to tear down an eye sore and put something of value there than keep something ugly, dangerous and useless around; especially in downtown and potential commercial areas.

Oh, nice, thanks for the info!
That building does look cool, it would be sweet to see something in there
