Congratulations on your decision. Most people I know who live in the Cities would move up there in a heartbeat. The city and the surrounding area is beautiful. It's nice that they are not tearing all the older buildings down, it gives the city character.

Gangs on Raleigh Street were in the 30's and 40's not so much when I lived there which was off and on from 1956 to present. There were some tough kids because of the tough times but most were really friendly, like me. All went to Irving school. The kids from other West Duluth schools looked down on us because we were basically poor families and had that gang stigma. I am really proud to say that I am from the Raleigh Street area, growing up there built character and nerves of steel, and you would know what I ment if you had suvived the many rock fights and fist fights that went on. I go back there every chance I get to take a quick drive through and visit the many places on Raleigh st. that I lived.
