Obama ridiculous spending is now on the backs of what's left of the middle class, headed for hyper inflation, it's going to happen just like the real estate bubble popped.

I knew he was wrong for us when he let $175 million be spent on his inauguration that he botched too.

I guess it depends on what major indicators you fancy, but a case could certainly be made for it being in a state of improvement.

The predictions sound like something The Onion would concoct. Providing mild amusement.

Most of them are already wrong. I say the slow downward slide will continue, but the world won't end. I'd bet we won't even admit we are in a depression until several years of this has gone by.

Oh come on! Someone with a blog states the Dow will drop to 1000 and you believe it? How about any sort of evidence? Any sort of support from these doomsday guys for their predictions?

Now, the economy is not doing great, to be sure. Unemployment is a real issue, and there are still areas of the economy that will suffer continued corrections and downdrafts. But to pretend that the dollar will bust in the next six months is ridiculous. The Euro will fall before the dollar, and while that is a possibility, that won't occur for a few years. You think Germany has deutchmarks (spelling?) on a printing press in reserve, or France has a secret stash of francs so that they could reconvert everything tomorrow? Heck, no.

There are 35,000 "experts" out there making predictions about the economy. Just because 20 say something is likely doesn't make it true (nor does it make it false). Look at the assumptions behind these predictions. I'd be willing to bet that the guy who said the Dow could fall to 1,000 made that prediction when he was asked what the potential result could be if a number of horrible economic events occurred (none of which did, thus rendering the prediction invalid for any future reference).

Wow, no one seems to learn from the past do they?

These "predictions" have been repeated every month for years, and when it doesn't happen the person just pushes it ahead another month. Then the really delusional post this crap over and over, while being willfully ignorant that the other 50 predictions of doom that did not come true sort of set up a pattern that this one is unlikely as well.

Add into that the predictions already fail to meet their own criteria for a mega depression, as the conditions haven't happened. It's sad when people post crap like this after the fact, and believe it. Just proves again that cranks will believe what they read if it agrees with what they already think, instead of objective reality. Which is why they flounder at life while people laugh at them, and it's hilarious fun.

Exactly.

I've been hearing the screams of impending hyper-inflation from the same type of posters for years now, and as we continue to hum along at record-low inflation year after year they just keep on saying it's coming just you watch.

I might as well just keep posting that it is 4:00 pm every half hour until I'm right, be just as informed a prediction.
